The theme for the 2022 Croker Prize for biography was Where did I come from? I submitted the life story of my 3G-grandmother Frances Reed nee Heazle (1812 - 1895). You can read Frances Reed, pioneer of Bourke by clicking here.
The Croker Prize for biography is an annual writing competition for stories limited to one thousand words. It is run by the Society of Australian Genealogists as a public recognition of their generous benefactors, Colin and Loas Croker. I have contributed an essay in each of its nine years (all available on my Stories page - click here).
I offer my hearty congratulations to Bob Wright for his winning essay, Collitt's Inn, about his 5G-grandfather Pierce Collitt.
